Activities & Initiatives, 2010-2011

• In conjunction with the Character Education Partnership, CLE serves as the coordinator for the Pennsylvania Schools of Character (PSOC) program; and serves on the Executive Committee of the New Jersey Alliance for Social Emotional and Character Development, the State Schools of Character Sponsor for New Jersey.
• Conduct multiple “Leadership and Ethics” seminars for organizations and schools.
• CLE is a resource and consultant for character development for all schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
• Organizes and conducts the annual Berks County (PA) High School Leadership and Ethics Conference.
• In conjunction with Rotary Clubs of Berks County, contribute to the annual “New Generation Youth Leadership Conference” for Berks County junior high school students.
• Support and participate in the annual National Conference on Ethics in America (NCEA) at USMA. 180 college students and 30 faculty delegates meet to spend three days discussing ethical issues that our nation and schools are facing (under the auspices of the William E. Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic).
• Conduct leadership and ethics training for 600 high school juniors who attend the Summer Leadership Training Program at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY (William E Simon Center).
• Train Cadets and participate in nationwide high school Values Outreach Conferences in conjunction with the United States Military Academy. There are currently over a dozen conferences around the nation for Academic Year 2010-2011.
• CLE serves on the Moral-Ethical Domain Committee at USMA and the Service Academy Consortium for Character Assessment.
• CLE will conduct a 4 year longitudinal assessment of character development in the USMA Class of 2010.
